Good morning everyone! No blood sugar test was done today but my average is at 130 for the past two weeks. So everything is holding together as long as I stay on my regimen.

THE VIDEOS ARE UP!
Here they are as promised! This morning I took the first videos of a series I've been planning. These focus on my morning routines including my supplement regimen. Be open minded and pay attention to the ingredients and supplements.
First my blood sugar was up to 150 today and I know why. I've been snacking too much at night with peanuts and I had some sweet cherries yesterday which have a higher sugar content. Also I had a cheeseburger with a bun from a local restaurant. Naughty I know but I just didn't feel like grilling in the 100 plus weather yesterday. I now realize I should have. There's nothing wrong with cherries unless you're diabetic. Tart cherries are the only ones I should be consuming. Ok onto the videos.

Good afternoon everyone! The picture says it all for me when it comes to what I do in the morning for my "boost". Good afternoon everyone! Today the blood sugar is back down to 122! It took almost 2 weeks to get it back down below 130 after my "birthday binge" of cake and ice cream. I won't be doing that again! But it's all good now as I'm back on the right track.
Today's health tips are about neurogenesis which is a regeneration of the brain cells! This article even includes cannabis and magic mushrooms! Gee is this why they're still illegal? Science is proving that natural plants like cannabis and mushrooms are beneficial for us yet the government insists on telling us they're bad. It's almost like they're Mr. Mackey on South Park who drones on about "drugs being bad" without any evidence to back it up. Of course diet, exercise and meditation are key as well so don't go popping mushrooms or smoking weed until you read the entire article. Johnny's Health Blog 8-7-15
Good morning everyone! I'm happy to report that my new protein shake mix was not the cause of my sugars being higher over the past week (today the count was 140) as I only went up 4 points from yesterday. The longer I work at this the more I see what my body likes and doesn't like. Any score of 130 or lower is ideal and it's a long way from the 300 I was at 3.5 months ago.
Today's health tip is from natural news.com. It covers 6 habits that can destroy our health and I used to do at least 4 of them.
As you can see our kidneys (along with our liver) process all of this crap and if we're not careful they can result in renal failure. If that happens we're essentially toast. Don't settle for crap food go organic! It's really not anymore expensive and it will save you money on medical bills!

Johnny's Health Blog 8-6-15
Good morning everyone! 165 to 136. Those are my blood sugar numbers from yesterday to today. That is a 29 point drop in 24 hours! What happened? First of all my sugar numbers went nuts due to over indulging for our birthdays. Too much cake/ice cream for a total of 3 days which sent my numbers up. Also I've been snacking on peanuts and other organic nuts too often which also hindered my weight loss. Now that I'm back on my new normal diet I'm back on track with my numbers as well. I also switched brands of protein powders which might have something to do with it as well. I am going to monitor that next and if that is a culprit then it's back to the original formula I purchased to start with. Yesterday I went to my old formula and look at the numbers! Today I'm using the new formula and now we'll see if that is a culprit or not. According to the label it shouldn't be but time will tell. The bottom line is this...once you find a combo that works stick with it! I changed protein powders because the prices went up $15.00 a bag! That seemed a bit steep to me so I tried a different brand but if it's doing more harm than good what's the point? I also increased my cinnamon/milk thistle supplement from 2 to 4 per day for the past two days. I will report back on this in a few days to tell you my results. Today's health topic is SLEEP!
Sleep is more important than I ever thought possible. Being in car sales for 20 years I thought sleeping was for wimps. Then there's a country song that says "I can sleep when I'm dead". Well you might end up in an early grave if you don't get at least 6 hours a night with 8 hours being the amount we really need. Sleep deprivation is a serious and chronic condition that can have disastrous effects on your health. Johnny's Health Blog 8-4-15
Good morning everyone. My blood sugars are staying in the 155-165 range this past week which goes to show you that lowering it the natural way is hard but going backwards by having 3 cheat days in a row is easy. I will get the count back down but it's going to take 2 weeks to reverse the damage 3 days did to me. Granted it's still half of what it was to begin with which is great but it's not good enough.
Today's health tip is about the MYTHS that persist regarding fat and cholesterol levels. For 30 plus years now we've seen fad diets come and go from high fat/protein (Atkins) and low fat/protein with high carbs (Pritikin diet). Both diets have their good and bad points but the high fat (trans fats are bad while saturated fats are good) and high cholesterol myth is just that a myth! The debate can rage on between the two diets forever but they both focus on using pure whole foods which is a good thing that they share. My point today is that the right fats are essential for total body health just as the right carbs (from whole veggies and berries) are essential as well. However for losing weight I found the Atkins diet (modified to include berries and veggies) is most effective at least for me. If you're a vegetarian that's cool just make sure to eat veggies that give you real protein. Here's today's supporting article.
